Understanding Climate Change and Its Impact on Energy Use in Buildings

Climate change is when the Earth's weather gets all mixed up because of things people do, like burning stuff or cutting down trees. This makes the Earth hotter faster than it should be.

Since a long time ago when people started using a lot of machines and burning fuels, the Earth's temperature has gone up by more than 1 degree Celsius. If we keep polluting the air like we are now, it could get even hotter by 0.2 degrees Celsius every ten years until 2030 to 2050. That's not good!

When it gets hotter, the weather gets weirder too. We'll have super hot days, really cold nights, and lots more storms, floods, and droughts.

This change in weather also messes with how much energy we need to keep our houses and buildings warm or cool. We're using more and more energy, especially since 2010, to heat and cool our homes and offices. That means we're making more pollution too!

Buildings use up a lot of energy, and that's making climate change worse. Places like India are going to need even more energy for buildings because more people are moving to cities and making new homes.

But there's hope! We can make buildings smarter and use less energy by planning better. Architects and engineers can use special tools to figure out the best ways to build energy-efficient buildings. These tools help them see how their designs will affect how much energy a building uses.

But it's not easy. Sometimes, there's not enough information to use these tools properly. Still, if we work hard and plan smart, we can make buildings that use less energy and help save the planet. So, let's all do our part to make a better world for the future!
